The NCAA may have stopped Jim Boeheim temporarily, but high school defenses may not be able to contain Jimmy Boeheim this season.

The son of the Syracuse University men's basketball coach went off for a career-best 39 points Friday in a high school basketball game in Central New York, Syracuse.com reported.

Jimmy Boeheim, a 6-foot-5 senior, connected for 16 field goals on his way to the big point total as Jamesville-DeWitt defeated Norwich 79-54 in a non-league game. His brother Buddy, a sophomore, chipped in with 14 points.

Their father, who has been the SU head coach since 1976, is serving a nine-game suspension in the fallout from a lengthy NCAA investigation.
