Nolan Smith is starting for No. 5 Duke in the Atlantic Coast Conference semifinals.

Smith was questionable for the Blue Devils' game against Virginia Tech on Saturday after injuring his toe late in a quarterfinal game the night before.

Team spokesman Matt Plizga said X-rays of Smith's toe showed that it wasn't broken, but the team wanted to see how he felt during pregame warmups before deciding his status. He looked comfortable while warming up and was introduced with Duke's starters.

The ACC's player of the year and its leading scorer injured the second toe on his left foot with 6:48 left in the 87-71 win over Maryland. He was hurt when he planted in the lane while attempting a jump stop.
