Corey Wickware scored a career-best 26 points, including hitting all 14 of his free throw tries, to lead SIU-Edwardsville past South Dakota 94-85 in overtime on Saturday night.

It was the second straight overtime victory at home for the Cougars (5-13), who beat Kennesaw State in double OT on Dec. 11.

The teams traded the lead 22 times in regulation and were tied seven times, including at halftime.

Down 75-74 with four seconds left in regulation, the Coyotes (8-9) tied it when Jake Thomas hit his first of two free throw tries. Thomas then missed the second shot.

SIU-Edwardsville went on to outscore the Coyotes in overtime 19-10.

Charlie Westbrook led South Dakota with 24 points while Thomas added 22. Steve Tecker and Louie Krogman each scored 10 for the Coyotes.

Cornelius Chatt scored 21 points for the Cougars as Michael Messer added 16 and Kevin Stineman 12.
