Singleton leads Montana State to OT win

Rod Singleton scored four of his 20 points in overtime to help Montana State beat Central Michigan 65-58 on Saturday night in the Rainbow Classic.

Danny Piepoli added 17 points, hitting a 3-pointer in overtime and making eight free throws without a miss in the second half and overtime, for the Bobcats, coming off a season-opening 77-59 loss to Hawaii on Friday night in the round-robin competition.

Bobby Howard scored 13 points for Montana State and Erik Rush had 10.

Trey Zeigler led Central Michigan with 21 points and Jalin Thomas had 15.

The Chippewas overcame a nine-point deficit midway through the second half, tying it at 56 on Zeigler's 3-pointer with 46 seconds left. He had a chance to end it in regulation, but missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

On Friday night in their opener, Thomas hit a 3-pointer as time expired to give the Chippewas a 70-67 victory over Cal State-Fullerton.

On Monday, Montana State will face Cal State-Fulleton, and Central Michigan will play Hawaii.
