Leon Powell had 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead Southeast Missouri State to a 64-57 upset over Murray State on Saturday night.
The Redhawks (8-19, 6-10 Ohio Valley) led 30-18 at halftime and hit eight straight free throws in the final 1:16 to snap a two-game losing streak and avoid their 20th loss of the season.
Anthony Allison and Marland Smith added 14 points each for Southeast Missouri, and Lucas Nutt had 12.
B.J. Jenkins had 18 points for Murray State (20-7, 12-4), which had its eight-game win streak snapped. Ivan Aska added 10 points and 12 rebounds.
The Redhawks led by as many as 18 points in the second half, but the Racers scored 10 straight points in a span of one minute and 38 seconds to pull within 50-43 with 4:19 remaining. Murray State got as close as 56-52 with 1:28 left before Southeast Missouri closed it out at the free-throw line.
