Trent Hutchin scored 21 points and Southeastern Louisiana used a strong first half in its season opener to beat Millsaps 91-45 on Friday night.
Rodney Jones and Gary Dixon each scored 14 points for the Lions, who shot 61.1 percent from the floor (33 for 54) and hit 14 of their 23 3-point attempts (60.9 percent). Roosevelt Johnson added 11 points.
Southeastern Louisiana scored the game's first nine points, later pushing its lead to 20-2 on a layup by DeShawn Patterson. Millsaps, a Division III school, went more than eight minutes without making a field goal in the first half.
The Lions went into halftime with a 36-8 lead.

Nick Cortese led Millsaps with 11 points.
Millsaps shot 34.8 percent from the field (16 for 46) for the game.
