Gary Dixon tipped in a missed shot at the buzzer to give Southeastern Louisiana an 89-87 victory over Lamar on Wednesday night.
Lamar's Stan Brown tied it at 87 on a tip-in with 8 seconds left. Then Trent Hutchin raced down the floor and took a 15-footer that bounced off the rim. Dixon, who made only one basket, put it back in at the buzzer. The play was reviewed but was ruled good.
Hutchin led the Lions (10-9, 4-3 Southland Conference) with 32 points, including 8 of 14 from 3-point range. Brandon Fortenberry had 21 points and seven assists, DeShawn Patterson added 13 points and David Ndoumba grabbed 11 rebounds.
Tremell Adams scored 21 points to pace the Cardinals (9-12, 3-4), who lost their third in a row. Anthony Miles added 16 points and Devon Lamb 12.
