Scott scores 21 points to lead Charlotte over Furman 77-68

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) Curran Scott scored 21 points in 21 minutes and Charlotte beat Furman 77-68 on Thursday night.

Scott came off the bench and made all 11 of his free throws. Andrien White added 12 points and 11 rebounds while Benas Griciunas and Bernard Sullivan had 10 points apiece for the 49ers (1-2).

Stephen Croone led Furman with 17 points with Matt Rafferty adding 10 points and 12 rebounds. Devin Sibley and Geoff Beans had 10 points apiece for the Paladins (2-1).

Furman led by 7 two minutes into the second half. The 49ers rallied and the game was tied five times until Charlotte went on a 9-0 run, including five points by White, to lead 57-48 with 6:06 left.

Furman cut the deficit to 4 twice but four free throws from Scott and two baskets by Sullivan built the lead to 11 with 14 seconds to go.
