Brandon Riley scored 23 points as South Carolina State defeated Webber International 69-50 on Wednesday night.
The Bulldogs (2-1), coming off a 75-38 loss to Virginia, couldn't pull away until midway through the first half. The Warriors (2-3) took their first lead at 11-9 on a layup by Taula Koloamatangi with 12:42 to go before the break. After the game was tied twice, S.C. State took the lead for good at 15-14 with 11:26 left in the half.
Luka Radovic added 11 points for the Bulldogs, who led by as many as 24, and Presano Bell grabbed 11 rebounds.
Tyler Aurbacher and David Swan scored 10 apiece for Webber International, which shot 37.7 percent from the field (20 of 53) compared to 43.8 percent (28 of 64) for S.C. State.
The Bulldogs dominated the glass, 49-28, with 18 rebounds on the offensive boards, and scored 40 points in the paint.
