Savannah State powers past South Carolina State 68-57

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) Terel Hall had 17 points to lead Savannah State to a 68-57 win over South Carolina State on Saturday, to avenge its Feb. 14 loss to the Bulldogs.

Alante Fenner had 15 points, Javaris Jenkins had 11 and Brian Pearson added 10 and 10 rebounds for Savannah State (9-19, 5-9 Mid-Eastern Atlantic), which shot 53.1 percent from the field.

Karon Wright finished with 19 points, including five 3-pointers, Greg Mortimer added 13 and Jalen White had 10 for South Carolina State (10-20, 7-8). White scored eight of his 10 in the second half, as the Bulldogs' bench outscored Savannah State's 33-12.

Up four at half, the Tigers stretched the lead as high as 16 in the second and led by double-digits for the final 5:56.

The Tigers earned 46 points in the paint opposite SC State's 26.
