Savannah State overwhelms North Carolina A&T 73-48
SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) Deven Williams scored a season-high 24 points, as Savannah State dominated North Carolina A&T 73-48 Saturday night.
Williams, who averages nine points a game, made 4 of 7 3-point attempts, hitting 57 percent of his shots.
Savannah State held the Aggies to 15 field goals on 50 attempts, limiting them to their second lowest point total of the season. They lost to North Carolina Central 84-44 on January 22. The Aggies had been averaging 66.8 points per game.
Joshua Montgomery had 15 points and Jyles Smith added 11 for Savannah State (9-16, 7-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). The Tigers made 51.1 percent of their shots from the field, hitting 7 of 16 from beyond the arc.
Savannah State had a 43-20 lead at the half and were ahead 60-30 at the midway point of the second half.
Lamont Middleton led NC A&T (8-18, 4-7) with 16 points.
