Savannah State beats Middle Georgia State 75-62

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) Terel Hall scored 14 points and Saadiq Muhammad 13 Thursday night to lead Savannah State to a 75-62 win over Middle Georgia State.

Alante Fenner and Jamal Norman came off the bench to score 10 apiece and the Tigers (2-6) outrebounded the Knights 45-35.

Ryan Wilkins led Middle Georgia State (2-5), an NAIA member, with 14 points and Alyja Hennings scored 13.

There were six lead changes and five ties in the first half until Hall hit a jumper with 4:30 to play, sparking a 15-2 run the Tigers used to build a 35-26 lead. Hall scored 11 points in the half, including a pair of free throws that gave the Tigers a 43-29 halftime lead.

The Knights stepped it up in the second half and gained some ground on an 8-2 run to pull within 11, 65-54, but the Tigers found answers. Muhammad scored the final Savannah State points on a dunk and a free throw.
