Jovonni Shuler scored 20 points to help Savannah State avenge an early season loss to Arkansas State, winning 67-61 on Tuesday night.

The Tigers (5-17) led 63-54 with 45 seconds left before two 3s from Donald Boone and Rashad Allison pulled Arkansas State within three, 63-60, with 28 seconds to go.

Preston Blackmon and Joshua Montgomery went 4 for 4 from the free-throw line to seal the win.

Allison scored 18 and Trey Finn and Boone had 12 apiece for Arkansas State (12-13). Martavius Adams added 13 rebounds and 10 points.

The Tigers dropped their Dec. 20 meeting with the Red Wolves 68-55, which capped a 13-game losing streak before beating Southeastern Louisiana, 74-65, on Dec. 29.

Blackmon scored 16, Montgomery added 14 and Jyles Smith 10 for Savannah State, which has won three consecutive games for the first time since Jan. 23, 2010.
