Sanders scores career-high 19, Albany beats Hartford 70-64

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) Ray Sanders had a career-high 19 points on Friday night, and Albany bounced back from its only conference loss to beat Hartford 70-64.

Sanders scored 15 in the second half, including a three-point play that gave the Great Danes (19-8, 13-1 America East) a seven-point lead with 3:21 left.

Justin Graham's 3-pointer for Hartford (13-14, 6-8) cut the margin back to four. Sam Rowley answered with a three-point play and Albany made 6 of 8 from the foul line in the final minute.

The Great Danes' 59-56 loss to Stony Brook on Tuesday snapped a 13-game winning streak. Evan Singletary added 14 points, Rowley scored 11 and Peter Hooley added 10.

Hartford was tied at halftime 25-all after holding Albany to 36 percent shooting in the first half. Mark Nwakamma led the Hawks with 17 points. Justin Graham added 15 points and Corban Wroe 14.
