San Diego slips past San Francisco late, 77-69

SAN DIEGO (AP) Johnny Dee scored 20 points and San Diego used a strong second-half finish to push past San Francisco, 77-69 on Saturday night.

Matt Glover knocked down a jumper with 6:05 left to give San Francisco a three-point lead, 61-58. But Dee converted a pair of free throws and Christopher Anderson got to the hoop for a layup to give the Toreros the lead. Dee extended it with a 3-pointer to make it 65-61 with 4:31 left.

San Diego (12-11, 5-6 West Coast Conference) closed the game out by going 10 for 10 from the free-throw line to preserve the victory.

Duda Sanadze scored 11 points and the Toreros shot 48.9 percent from the floor, knocking down 23 of 47 attempts, 6 of 18 from long range.

Kruize Pinkins scored 23 points to lead the Dons (9-14, 3-8), with Glover adding 13 and Tim Derksen 10 points.
