Bryan Friday scored 23 points and Samford ended a four-game skid by defeating North Carolina-Greensboro 73-60 Thursday night. The Bulldogs (12-13, 7-9 Southern Conference) took a 33-28 lead into halftime and fought off a rally to send UNC Greensboro to its eighth loss in nine games. The Spartans (4-20, 3-12) used an 8-0 run to close within 45-44 with 10:50 left, but Samford answered with a 13-4 surge to pull away. The Bulldogs also defeated UNC Greensboro 76-61 on Jan. 24 and lead the series 4-0. Friday was 9-for-12 from the field for Samford, which entered the game second in the league in field goal percentage and hit 22 of 46 shots (47.8 percent) and 20 of 23 free throws. Josh Davis added 16 points for the Bulldogs and Trey Montgomery had 14. Mikko Koivisto led the Spartans with 16 points and Kendall Toney added 12.
