Saint Peter's defeats Canisius 68-55

Jeron Belin had 16 points and eight rebounds as Saint Peter's defeated Canisius 68-55 on Sunday, extending the Peacocks' winning streak to five games.

Saint Peter's (12-8, 7-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) shot 47.8 percent from the 3-point line (9-for-19) and used a 21-6 first half run to establish a lead it never relinquished.

The Peacocks went from a 13-12 deficit to a 33-19 lead behind Steven Samuels and Belin, who combined for four 3-pointers and 14 points in the streak. Wesley Jenkins also hit a 3 as the Peacocks made five of their nine for the game in a 7-minute span.

Jenkins and Nick Leon added 11 points each and Yvon Raymond scored 10 for the Peacocks.

Frank Turner, the MAAC's leading scorer entering the game (17.1), finished with 18 points. Elton Frazier scored 12 and Julius Coles and Greg Logins added 10 each for Canisius (10-11, 5-5).
