Mickey McConnell scored 28 points, Matthew Dellavedova had 24 and they combined to make 11 3-pointers as St. Mary's defeated Mississippi State 94-72 on Wednesday night in the Shamrock Shootout.

The Gaels (11-2), who have a five-game winning streak, also got 15 points from Rob Jones and 12 from Mitchell Young.

The Bulldogs (8-6) were led by Ravern Johnson's 26 points. Riley Benock added 13 and Kodi Augustus 12.

McConnell also had 13 assists.

Dellavedova, who made six 3-pointers, scored 16 points in the second half, including 10 in a row that increased a 63-53 lead to 73-58. The Gaels never led by fewer than 13 points after that.

St. Mary's shot 52 percent (35 for 67) and was at 47 percent (14 for 30) on 3-pointers. Mississippi State converted 46 percent (21 for 46) from the floor and 40 percent (6 for 15) on 3-pointers.
