Shane Gibson had 19 points and nine rebounds and Sacred Heart pulled away late in the second half for a 75-66 victory over Stony Brook on Saturday.

Jerrell Thompson scored five of his 16 points to key a 10-0 run that broke open a 54-54 tie and gave the Pioneers (3-7) a 64-54 lead with 3:32 left.

Gibson hit a 3-pointer to start the run and Thompson followed with another 3. Thompson hit two free throws before Stan Dulaire's dunk capped the run.

Stony Brook (4-5) cut the lead to 64-60 on Chris Martin's layup with 59 seconds left, but Sacred Heart scored the next six points to ice the game.

The Pioneers were 11 of 12 from the free-throw line in the final 54 seconds.

Dulaire and Evan Kelley added 11 points each for Sacred Heart.

Bryan Dougher scored 18 points, Al Rapier added 11 and Martin had 10 points for Stony Brook. Dallis Joyner had 11 rebounds.
