Damon Heuir scored 33 points on 13 of 16 shooting from the floor to lead Southern Utah to a 95-78 victory against Bryant in the Basketball Travelers Classic on Sunday.

Ray Jones Jr. added 18 points and 10 rebounds and Matt Massey had 16 points for the Thunderbirds (2-1).

Alex Francis had 29 points and eight rebounds and Frankie Dobbs scored 24 points for the Bulldogs (1-2).

Southern Utah led by three points with eight minutes remaining when baskets by Jones and Massey and 3-pointer by Heuir sparked a 17-4 run over a 4:38 span. Massey's layup with 3:33 to play ended the surge and gave the Thunderbirds a 91-75 cushion.
