Carlton Fay scored 15 points to lead Southern Illinois past Evansville 67-55 Tuesday night.

Mykel Cleveland added 11 points for the Salukis (10-9, 4-4 Missouri Valley), who have beaten the Purple Aces 10 straight times in Carbondale.

Pieter van Tongeren had 18 points for Evansville (9-9, 3-5), which was attempting to win consecutive conference road games for the first time since 1998-99.

Down 13-10 with 9:11 left in the first half, Southern Illinois scored 17 straight points to take the lead for good. Gene Teague scored seven of his nine points during the run.

The Salukis led by 16 before going into halftime up 31-24.

The Purple Aces used a 13-4 run to pull to within 47-43 with 8:06 to play but couldn't get any closer.
