Charlie Westbrook scored 24 points to lead four South Dakota players in double figures as the Coyotes defeated Louisiana-Monroe 79-66 Sunday at the Global Sports Roundball Classic.
Jake Thomas added 20 points, freshman Trevor Gruis recorded his first career double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds and Louie Krogman finished with 12 points for the Coyotes (2-4).
Tommie Sykes led the Warhawks (2-5) with 19 points while Hugh Mingo scored 16 and Fred Brown had 15.
South Dakota never trailed and built an early double-digit lead by connecting on 12 of its first 15 shots. The Coyotes led 47-32 at halftime and by as many as 20 in the second half.

Steve Tecker had a career-high 10 rebounds for South Dakota.
