Rowe's 3-pointer lifts Tennessee Tech over Lipscomb 81-78
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Torrance Rowe's 3-pointer with eight seconds left sent Tennessee Tech to an 81-78 victory over Lipscomb on Saturday night.
Lipscomb's Nathan Moran made a steal and layup for a 78-76 lead with 17 seconds left before Rowe responded. Coming out of a timeout, the Bisons' Josh Williams had his shot blocked in the paint by Anthony Morse. Mason Ramsey then made two free throws at the other end.
The Eagles trailed by 14 at halftime. They took their first lead of the second half during an 11-0 run. It's the third time Tennessee Tech has rallied from a double-digit deficit to win.
Tennessee Tech's sixth straight win gave it its best start since 2005-06 and its first road victory since Dec. 22, 2014.
Rowe finished with 26 points. Ryan Martin had 18 points and 11 rebounds, his third double-double this season.
Garrison Matthews led Lipscomb (3-7) with 16 points.
