Robinson scores 33, Monmouth beats Wagner 81-71

NEW YORK (AP) Justin Robinson made 6 of 8 from 3-point range and scored 33 points to help Monmouth overcome a 12-point, first-half deficit to beat Wagner 81-71 on Tuesday night.

Monmouth (7-2) pulled away with seven straight points to lead 70-59 on Robinson's 3-pointer with 2:54 to play.

Blake Francis' 3-pointer cut the deficit to 75-68 with just under a minute left and Wagner (2-5) would get no closer.

Micah Seaborn added 16 points for the Hawks, who trailed most of the first half before taking control early in the second. Wagner had its largest lead at 24-12.

Monmouth took the lead for good early in the second half during an 11-2 run that ended at 53-46. Robinson had 21 points and made all four of his 3-point attempts after the break.

Michael Carey had 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Seahawks. Francis and Corey Henson added 11 points each.
