Robinson scores 20 in 2nd half; Monmouth beats Marist 69-65

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP) Justin Robinson made 5 of 7 from long range and finished with 20 points, all in the second half, as Monmouth beat Marist 69-65 on Monday night.

Robinson only attempted two shots in the first half but knocked down 7 of 11 in the second period. Brice Kofane, who finished with six points and a career-high 12 rebounds, grabbed an offensive rebound and followed with a layup with eight seconds left to secure the victory. Deon Jones added 18 points for Monmouth (15-12, 11-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).

Marist led throughout the second half and held a 58-56 lead at the 3:35 mark. Monmouth scored seven straight points to go up 63-58 with 2:30 left. Jones made two layups and hit two free throws for a 67-61 lead with 18 seconds left.

Khallid Hart was 5 of 11 from beyond the arc for 21 points for Marist (5-21, 4-12).
