Robinson scores 19, Monmouth beats Cornell 76-61

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP) Justin Robinson made 4 of 4 from 3-point range and finished with 19 points on Tuesday night and Monmouth beat Cornell 76-61 to snap a two-game skid.

Pierre Sarr grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds and Chris Brady had eight boards, three blocked shots and two steals for Monmouth.

Monmouth (2-2) made five 3s, including three in a row by Robinson, during a 24-2 run that made gave the Hawks a 20-point lead with 8 minutes left in the first half and led by double figures the rest of the way.

Stone Gettings and Troy Whiteside scored 14 points apiece for Cornell.

The Big Red shots 36 percent (22 of 61) from the field, including 8 of 34 from 3-point range, and made 9 of 18 free throws.

Monmouth outrebounded Cornell 48-37 and shot a season-high 38.1 percent (8 of 21) from beyond the arc.
