Brandon Penn scored 13 points and Rider cruised to an 81-39 victory over Maryland-Baltimore County on Wednesday night.

The Broncs (6-4) shot 58.7 percent from the field (27 of 46) and 44.4 percent from the 3-point line (8 of 18). It was the lowest point total against Rider since Bucknell scored 34 points in 1981-82.

UMBC (0-8) scored the game's first seven points, but Tommy Pereira hit three 3-pointers to key Rider's 32-2 run for a 32-9 lead with 4:16 left in the half.

The Broncs took a 43-13 lead on Dera Nd-Ezuma's layup with 59 seconds left in the half. They extended their advantage to 63-25 on Patrick Mansell's 3-pointer with 10:48 to play in the game.

Nd-Ezuma added 12 points for Rider.

Chase Plummer and Justin Fry scored nine points each to lead UMBC, which shot 28.6 percent from the field (16 of 56) and was 3 of 8 from the line (37.5 percent).
