Richmond holds off William & Mary, 68-67

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) Terry Allen and Kendall Anthony scored 18 points apiece and Richmond held off William & Mary from the free throw line down the stretch to secure a 68-67 win Wednesday night.

Marcus Thornton drilled a 3-pointer with 5:30 left to pull the Tribe even, 63-63, but Alonzo Nelson-Ododa's tip-in with 4:23 left gave Richmond the lead for good.

T.J. Cline hit the first of two free throws and Allen hit 2 of 4 from the line to preserve the win.

Allen was 5 of 8 from the field and 8 of 10 from the line, grabbing six rebounds, for Richmond (3-3), which remains unbeaten at home. Anthony got his 18 points on 7 of 12 shooting from the floor and 2 of 5 from long range.

Thornton knocked down a career-high 37 points for William & Mary (5-2) and scored 20 of the Tribe's 33 first-half points.
