Former Kansas G Conner Frankamp will transfer to Wichita State, according to media reports.

Frankamp, a Wichita, Kan. native, had also considered Creighton and Colorado, but ultimately decided staying home was his best bet.

"I really connected with Coach (Gregg) Marshall," Frankamp said, per a report from the Wichita Eagle. "(WSU coaches) all sound very intense and they live and breathe basketball. They can help my game improve a ton."

Frankamp will enroll for the spring semester at Wichita State, meaning he will be eligible after the first semester of the 2015-16 season. He stands a far better bet at playing time than he did at Kansas, where he dealt with a logjam of talent at both the point guard and wing positions this season and in 2013-14. Frankamp averaged 2.5 points in 8.3 minutes of action last season.

He also likes how the Wichita State staff has developed guards Ron Baker and Fred Van Vleet during their time at the school. Both players were instrumental in the Shockers' undefeated run through the 2013-14 regular season and Missouri Valley Conference tournament. Wichita State lost a hard-fought game to eventual national runner-up Kentucky in the NCAA tournament's round of 32.

"I think they have a good chance to get to the league (NBA)," Frankamp said of Baker and Van Vleet, per the Wichita Eagle. "I'm very excited to learn from them."
