Kansas great Danny Manning has reached an agreement to become the new head basketball coach at Tulsa, CBS Sports reported Wednesday, citing a source.
The 45-year-old has served as an assistant coach at Kansas since 2007 and has been a member of the staff for nine seasons.
As a player, he led Kansas to the 1988 national title, before being selected at No. 1 by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 1988 NBA Draft.
A two-time All-Star, Manning spent 15 seasons in the NBA, averaging 14 points per game.

Manning will replace Doug Wojcik, who was fired earlier this month on the back of Tulsa's 17-14 season.
