Report: Feds seize Fine's belongings
Federal authorities said Monday they had seized cell phones, computers, cameras and videos from the home and office of accused child molester and former Syracuse basketball coach Bernie Fine.
According to The Post-Standard, the agents were looking for pornographic material "that could have been used to sexually arouse or groom young males to engage in sex acts."
The search warrants were also intended to look for evidence of any boy ever living at the Fine residence. The searches were led by the US Secret Service.
Fine's DeWitt, N.Y., home was searched Nov. 25 and his office on the Syracuse campus was searched Nov. 29. Authorities reportedly also searched two safety deposit boxes linked to Fine, including one in which seven documents were seized.
Agents were also looking for travel records, and seized two boxes of checks, according to records released Monday by federal prosecutors.
Two former Syracuse ball boys, Bobby Davis and Mike Lang, claim Fine repeatedly molested them as juveniles. A third man, Zach Tomaselli, later came forward, also claiming Fine abused him during his childhood.
Fine, 65, denies the allegations.
