Reese posts Canisius' first triple-double in 104-84 victory (Nov 18, 2017)

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) Isaiah Reese posted the first triple-double in Canisius' 114-year basketball history and the Golden Griffins weathered a second-half run by Youngstown State to win 104-84 on Saturday night.

Reese, a sophomore, scored career highs of 23 points and 11 assists and tied his personal best with 11 rebounds. Spencer Foley made all six of his 3-point tries in the first half when he scored 22 of his career-high 25 points and helped boost Canisius (1-2) to a 54-39 lead.

Malik Johnson added a career-high 22 points and seven assists and Jermaine Crumpton scored 21 points.

Braun Hartfield hit five 3-pointers and scored a career-high 33 points for the Penguins (1-2), who have scored 134 points in victory and given up 111 and 104 in defeat.

Johnson hit a 3-pointer to give the Griffins their largest lead of 24 points at 71-49 then the Penguins, behind eight points from Noe Anabir and seven from Hartfield, went on a 24-7 run to close within 78-71 with 6:43 to go. The Griffins, with 11 points from Johnson, responded with a 26-11 run to clinch the win.
