Reese leads Canisius over Manhattan to set up MAAC showdown (Jan 19, 2018)

NEW YORK (AP) Isaiah Reese scored all 22 of his points in the second half and Canisius stayed tied atop the conference standings with a 68-59 win over Manhattan on Friday night.

Reese was 6 of 11 from 3-point range in the second half, including a trio of 3s during an 11-0 run early in the period that gave the Golden Griffins (12-8, 6-1) the lead for good. Canisius will visit Iona (6-1) on Sunday with sole possession of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference top spot at stake.

Reese made a 25-footer with 2:35 left that made it 62-50 and the Griffins led by at least 10 until Thomas Capuano capped the scoring for Manhattan with a 3-pointer.

Reese had six assists and six steals, Takal Molson added 14 points and Jermaine Crumpton scored 12 for Canisius.

The Jaspers (9-10, 4-3) led by as many as six late in the first half. Pauly Paulicap had 17 points and Rich Williams added 12.
