Johnathan Edwards scored 16 points and four others reached double figures as Radford pulled away from Shenandoah in the second half for a 79-50 win on Saturday night.

The Highlanders (2-0) outscored Shenandoah 41-14 in the second half after leading by only two points at halftime.

Tolga Cerrah and Jareal Smith each added 12 points for Radford while R.J. Price and Brian Darden scored 11 points apiece.

Radford shot 49.2 percent (29 of 59) from the field and outrebounded the Hornets, an NCAA Division III team, 41-22. Edwards made 5 of 6 field goal attempts while Cerrah was 6 of 8 to pace the solid shooting effort. Price and Darden each made 3 of 5 shots from 3-point range.

The Highlanders defense also made a difference, forcing 25 turnovers.

Dominic Chappell scored 11points for Shenandoah, which shot 39.1 percent (18 of 46) from the field.
