Quinnipiac 72, Monmouth, N.J. 70

Jamee Jackson hit one of two free throws with 14.3 seconds left, and Quinnipiac rallied past Monmouth (N.J.), 72-70, on Thursday night in a game where both teams were short-handed.

The Bobcats (10-3, 2-1 Northeast Conference) were without second-leading scorer Justin Rutty, who is nursing a right elbow injury. The Hawks (5-10, 1-2), who had a 14-point lead, played their first game since the academic suspension of four players.

Jackson, who finished with 20 points, gave Quinnipiac its first lead of the second half with the winning foul shot. On the next possession, Monmouth's James Hett missed two free throws with 3.9 seconds left.

Monmouth's Mike Myers Keitt led all scorers with 21.
