Princeton 70, Saint Joseph's 62
Douglas Davis scored 17 points, and Princeton beat St. Joseph's 70-62 on Saturday for its fifth straight win.
Dan Mavraides added 16 points, Pawel Buczak had 14 and Ian Hummer 10 for the Tigers (7-4). It was the most points for the Tigers since scoring 71 against Central Michigan in the season opener.
Princeton led 34-25 at halftime and took its biggest lead, 39-25, on two free throws by Buczak with 18:38 to play in the game. The Tigers twice had double-digit leads in the second half that St. Joseph's whittled down to two points.
A 3-pointer by Bryant Irwin cut the Princeton lead to 64-62 with 24 seconds remaining, but the Tigers hit six straight free throws the rest of the way to seal the win.
Carl Jones came off the bench to lead the Hawks (4-8) with 17 points and Darrin Govens added 13. The Hawks have lost two in a row and eight of their last nine.
