Pott Jr., Fairleigh Dickinson beat Sacred Heart 80-68

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) Earl Potts Jr. had 20 points and 11 rebounds, and Darian Anderson scored 18 with seven assists to help Fairleigh Dickinson beat Sacred Heart 80-68 Thursday night.

Mike Holloway added 13 points and a career-high 10 rebounds for Fairleigh Dickinson (6-8, 2-1 Northeast Conference).

Holloway and Marques Townes each converted a 3-point play during a 10-2 run that put the Knights up 14-6 with 12:19 left in the first half. Ghassan Nehme hit back-to-back 3s during a 27-8 spurt that pushed Fairleigh Dickinson's lead to 28 points about 10 minutes later.

Cane Broome scored 10 during a 15-2 run that pulled Sacred Heart (2-11, 1-2) within eight, 76-68, with 1:03 to play, but Holloway and Townes combined to make 4 of 4 free throws from there to seal it.

Broome led Sacred Heart with 24 points.

The Pioneers made just 16 of 29 (55.2 percent) free throws.
