Chehales Tapscott had 17 points and 11 rebounds and Portland State led by as many as 31 points en route to an 85-67 victory over Sacramento State on Wednesday night.

Charles Odum added 16 points for the Vikings (13-12, 7-6 Big Sky), who have won three straight as they scramble for position in the conference standings behind leaders Weber State and Montana.

Jackson Carbajal had 19 points for the Hornets (9-16, 4-10). Heath Hoffman added 17.

Portland State took a 22-9 lead midway through the first half when Odum's dunk capped an 8-0 Vikings run. Odum's layup with just over three minutes left put Portland State ahead 42-22.

A dunk by Nate Lozeau and a pair of free throws from Tapscott to open the second half gave the Vikings their biggest margin of the game at 53-22.

The Vikings hold a 16-1 advantage over Sacramento State in Portland.
