Chehales Tapscott hit a short jump-hook in the lane with 4.9 seconds left to give Portland State a come-from-behind 66-65 win over Seattle University on Tuesday night.

Charles Odum led Portland State (1-1) with 17 points while Nate Lozeau had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Vikings. Tapscott also had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Aaron Broussard led Seattle (0-1) with 17 points.

Seattle grabbed the lead 10 minutes into the game and held the advantage until Tapscott's dramatic shot. The Redhawks led by as many as 14 points in the second half and by seven with four minutes left to play. The Vikings roared back and closed the game with an 8-0 run in the final 1:38 of play. A last-second shot by Seattle was off the mark.

Portland State shot 43 percent for the game and held Seattle to 38 percent shooting.
