Pecora leaving Hofstra for Fordham

Hofstra coach Tom Pecora is leaving for Fordham.

According to multiple sources, the New York native and former Jay Wright assistant has agreed to a five-year deal, replacing Derek Whittenburg.

Pecora is set to inform his players of his decision before Tuesday night’s team banquet.

Pecora has a 155-126 record in nine years at the helm. Hofstra was 19-15 this season, and  10-8 in Colonial Athletic Association games.

Pecora took over as coach after spending four years as Jay Wright’s assistant before Wright left Hostra for Villanova.

Fordham was 2-26 this season, 0-16 in A-10 conference games.
