Matt Painter is staying at Purdue.

According to sources, the Boilermakers head coach — after meeting with Missouri on Tuesday — has opted to remain in West Lafayette.

Painter, 40, has spent the past six seasons at his alma mater and is 138-64. He took the Boilermakers to the Sweet 16 in 2009 and 2010.

Purdue was 26-8 this past season and lost to VCU in its second game in the NCAA tournament, after opening with a victory over St. Peter's.
