Pacific outlasts San Francisco 79-70 behind Thompson

STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) Eric Thompson shot 7 for 8 from the field, scored 16 points and added six rebounds to lead Pacific past San Francisco 79-70 Thursday night to snap its four-game losing streak.

Pacific (8-19, 6-11 West Coast Conference) also broke its six-game losing streak against San Francisco (15-13, 8-9).

The Tigers outscored San Francisco 12-2 in the final 3:37 of play to secure the win. Ray Bowles' jumper gave Pacific a 69-68 lead, which started the run.

Pacific led 36-29 at the half before the Dons started the second half outscoring the Tigers 19-10. Uche Ofoegbu hit a 3 to give the Dons a 48-46 lead. Devin Watson also hit a 3 during the stretch to give San Francisco its first lead of the game, 44-43.

The Tigers raced to 19-9 lead with 10:28 to play before halftime.

Watson led San Francisco with 20 points but was 4 for 15 from the floor.
