Old Dominion dominates Louisiana Tech, 72-53

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) Trey Freeman scored 27 points on 9 of 15 shooting and added seven rebounds to help lead Old Dominion to a 72-53 victory over Louisiana Tech on Saturday.

Aaron Bacote scored 10 points and Jonathan Arledge and Jordan Baker added eight points apiece for Old Dominion (20-6, 9-5 Conference USA), which has won five of seven and 19 in a row at home dating back to last season.

The Monarchs held Louisiana Tech (21-7, 12-3) to just 31.6 percent shooting, and the 53 points scored was the Bulldogs' lowest total of the year. Old Dominion ranks 15th nationally in scoring defense (57.3 points per game).

Old Dominion opened the game on an 11-0 run, capped off by a Freeman 3-pointer, and never trailed..

Raheem Appleby scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead Louisiana Tech. He was the only Bulldog in double figures.
