Old Dominion 75, Towson 38
Kent Bazemore scored 14 points and Dimitri Batten 11 for Old Dominion in a 75-38 rout of hapless Towson on Saturday night.
The Monarchs (8-8, 3-1 Colonial Athletic Association) trailed for nearly all of the game's first 8 minutes before putting together a 14-0 run and easing to victory from there. They led by 21 points at the break and outscored the Tigers 37-21 to clinch it in the second half.
Towson (0-16, 0-4) now owns the NCAA Division I record for consecutive losses with 35. New Jersey Institute of Technology set the overall record of 51, but did it when transitioning from Division II to Division I.
The Tigers had trouble finding the basket again just one game removed from setting the school and CAA record for scoring futility in a 60-27 loss at Drexel. Towson has scored a total of 113 points in three January losses.
