Odunsi's late FTs gives Houston Baptist 73-71 win over ACU

HOUSTON (AP) Anthony Odunsi made eight straight free throws in the final minute as Houston Baptist held off Abilene Christian 73-71 on Thursday night.

Odunsi, who was 11 of 14 from the free throw line, finished with 21 points, nine rebounds and three assists for Houston Baptist (16-11, 10-4 Southland). Jourdan Stickler nailed four 3-pointers for 12 points and Reveal Chukwujekwu added 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Huskies who remain in the hunt for second place in the conference behind Stephen F. Austin (19-5, 12-0) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (19-6, 10-3).

Houston Baptist was up 57-52 with 4:13 left. ACU's Parker Wentz nailed a trey to close to 57-55. Odunsi answered with a jumper and two free throws. ACU's Jaylen Franklin, who finished with 15 points, had a layup to tie at 63 with 1:44 left.

Duran Porter had 15 points and Jalen Little added 13 for the Wildcats (11-15, 6-7).
