Oakland University says basketball player Blake Cushingberry has been ruled academically ineligible.
Coach Greg Kampe announced the news Wednesday. Cushingberry, a redshirt junior, is a 6-foot-3 guard. He has started four games this season, averaging 2.8 points and 2.5 rebounds.
Kampe says he's disappointed to lose Cushingberry, but he says the school is ''committed to this young man attaining his degree.''
Oakland plays at Valparaiso on Saturday night.
