Northwestern State comes back to beat LSU-Alexandria 82-69

NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) Ishmael Lane had 17 points and Zeek Woodley added 16 as Northwestern State pulled away late to beat NAIA LSU-Alexandria 82-69 on Tuesday night.

LSU-Alexandria took a 31-29 into the break, led throughout most of the second half and was up 59-49 midway in the second period. Northwestern State started chipping away at the lead and took control when Devonte Hall hit a jumper and then made two free throws and hit another jumper to take a 71-65 lead with 2:44 left in the game. The Demons then romped to the win, allowing Alexandria just four points in the final 4:48.

Lane was 7 of 11 from the field and grabbed eight rebounds. Tra'von Joseph, Hall, and Sabri Thompson each had 11 points for Northwestern (2-2). Hall also dished out seven assists.

Brandon Moss led Alexandria with 21 points and Hayward Register and Gilbert Talbot added 11 apiece.
