Northern Arizona squeaks past Loyola Marymount, 71-69

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) Quinton Upshur scored 18 points on 5 of 8 shooting from the field; including four points in the final minute, to lead Northern Arizona to a 71-69 win over Loyola Marymount on Saturday.

With the score tied at 66 with under a minute to play, Upshur hit a layup followed by a pair of free throws on the next possession to give Northern Arizona a four point lead. Matt Hayes would drill a 3-pointer for Loyola Marymount to cut the lead to one with under 10 seconds left, but the Lions could not get over the hump.

Aaseem Dixon finished with 12 points off the bench for the Lumberjacks (3-6), and Kris Yanku added 11 points, five rebounds, and five assists.

Evan Payne scored 32 points to lead Loyola Marymount (3-5). Marin Mornar added nine points and five boards for the Lions.
