Chaisson Allen scored 17 points and Joel Smith added 15 to lead Northeastern past North Carolina-Wilmington 78-68 on Saturday in both teams' regular season finale.

Kauri Black added 13 points and Jonathan Lee had 12 for the Huskies (11-19, 6-12 Colonial Athletic Association), who improved to 4-0 all-time against UNC-Wilmington inside Matthews Arena.

Northeastern shot 55.2 percent from the floor (16 of 29) in the opening half en route to a 44-33 halftime lead.

A layup from Allen with 15:41 remaining capped a 15-6 run as the Huskies pulled ahead 59-39, their largest lead of the game.

UNC-Wilmington closed the deficit to as little as seven points, 72-65, on two free throws from Chad Tomko with 1:46 left to play.

Tomko and Keith Rendleman each scored 19 points for the Seahawks (13-17, 7-11), who ended the regular season on a three-game losing streak.
