North Texas 78, Florida Atlantic 64

Tristan Thompson was 20 for 20 from the free-throw line and scored 36 points to lift North Texas to a 78-64 win over Florida Atlantic in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament on Sunday night.

Thompson scored 24 of his points in the second half in helping the Mean Green (21-10) rally from an 11-point first-half deficit. He hit 7 of 11 field-goal attempts, including both 3-point shots.

Fourth-seeded North Texas advances to Monday's tournament semifinals to face No. 3 seed Western Kentucky. The Hilltoppers beat Louisiana-Lafayette 81-76.

The No. 1 seed Owls (21-10) led 34-23 late in the first half and 41-33 early in the second half before the Mean Green went on a 8-0 run to tie it at 41. Thompson had six points during the run.

Raymond Taylor led Florida Atlantic with 13 points.
